  • Unemployment Insurance: State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD).

  • Income Tax Withholding: Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR).

  • SIT payment frequency

  • SUI ID # (format: XXXXXX-XXX-X)

  • Current year SUI rate

  • SUI Internet Access Key (instructions here)

 

REGISTERING FOR UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE

In order to register with the DWD, visit their website  and select "Create Logon ID". Once registered, you will receive an Unemployment Account Number (UI) and Unemployment Rate (%) which you will need to enter into Namely Payroll under Company > Tax screen (UI tax).  

If you've run payroll in Wisconsin previously, you can find your 
Employer UI Account Number on the latest tax rate notice or Quarterly Wage Report (Form UCT-101) sent to you by the Wisconsin DWD. If you're unable to locate the Agency documentation, you can email the Agency at taxnet@dwd.wisconsin.gov

REGISTERING FOR INCOME TAX WITHHOLDING

To register with Wisconsin DOR visit their website  and follow the prompts. Once you have completed the registration, you will receive a confirmation number. Please keep a record of the confirmation number in case you need to reach out to the agency. 

TIP:

Future-date registration is possible for this state's income tax withholding! 

Once registered, you will receive a Withholding Tax Account Number (WH) which you will need to enter into Namely Payroll under Company > Tax screen (WH tax). 

If you've run payroll in Wisconsin previously, you can find your 
Tax / Withholding Account Number on the form WT-6 Withholding Coupon or on the Welcome Letter labeled 'Filing Number' sent by the Wisconsin DOR.

POWER OF ATTORNEY FORMS

Please note, Namely does not require a Power of Attorney for this state at this time. It is not required to file or remit payments on your behalf. If one is needed to resolve a tax matter, the tax notice team will request one from you at that time.

STATE INCOME WITHHOLDING FORMS

Namely uploads Federal and State W-4 documents to your HRIS site for use during Onboarding, or if you need to send W-4s to employees who need to make withholding adjustments.

Comments: Each worker must provide the employer with a completed withholding exemption certificate. Through Dec. 31, 2019, federal Form W-4 may be used to calculate state withholding for all employees that claim the same number of state and federal allowances, while employees must use the state Form WT-4, Employee's Wisconsin Withholding Exemption Certificate/New Hire Reporting, to claim a different number of state allowances.

Effective Jan. 1, 2020, new employees and current employees who wish to change their withholding must use Form WT-4, but current employees do not need to fill out Form WT-4 if they do not need to change the number of state allowances claimed in 2019.
